Down to Business: Q1
2025 quarter one community impact: January, February & March at-a-glance
We are proud to present our Quarter One community impact!
In the first quarter of 2025, the Down Syndrome Association of Maryland (DSAmd) made a meaningful impact across the state, supporting more than 329 unique individuals through our connection programs, advocacy efforts, and community-building events! This has more than doubled since quarter one of last year.
We also welcomed 8 new babies (doubled since last year’s quarter one) and reached 3,000 children in 12 counties with our classroom advocacy kits for World Down Syndrome Day (32% increase!)
In addition to the above, DSAmd:
testified in Annapolis in support of an Alzheimer’s disease bill that we believe should specifically calculate and mention those with Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease to better support this section of the community
provided approximately $2,000 in support of the Maryland Down Syndrome Advocacy Coalition’s World DS Day activities in Annapolis
paid 5 self-advocates for their support with advocacy and administrative efforts that benefit DSAmd and the Ds community
Thanks to the unwavering support of our volunteers, donors, and business sponsors, we are building a stronger, more inclusive, and diverse Down syndrome community in Maryland — and we are just getting started. We can’t do it without our partners. Thank you!
