DSAmd Impact Report: Together in 2025

Hello, there! Happy New Year!

I am constantly in awe of our families for their resilience, resourcefulness, and determination as they navigate systems not always designed for individuals with Down syndrome.

Even the most dedicated, organized families should not have to do it alone. That belief drives the Down Syndrome Association of Maryland, our 2022 name change, and our work today across counties so every person touched by Down syndrome can thrive, regardless of luck, zip code, or income.

DSAmd had more than 2,700 registrations this year (not counting World DS Day activities and the walk-a-thons) – nearly double last year. By keeping overhead low by not operating from a single office (with a hefty mortgage or rental cost), we are able to reach more families and create broader impact. And all of this is possible thanks to generous donors, sponsors, fundraisers and volunteers. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I hope this snapshot of our 2025 impact reflects DSAmd's core focuses: Connection to trusted resources, Building Community, and Advocacy for meaningful change for as many individuals with DS as possible. I am excited for what 2026 holds and grateful to be part of this community. Happy New Year!
