Mid-Year Impact
Hi there! We’ve counted and reviewed our efforts over the last half-year. Now, I am excited to present a snapshot of DSAmd’s impact over the first half of 2026!
Together, partners, funders, and volunteers between January and June….
supported 1,199 registrations for programs and events around the state
delivered 61 programs* by meeting families in their communities in 13 Maryland counties (St. Mary’s, Talbot, Worcester, Wicomico, Howard, Carroll, Frederick, Cecil, Harford, Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Prince George’s)
welcomed 10 new and expectant families with resources and connections (#11 reached out just today - July 2)
applied for 17 grant funding opportunities (winning 7 grant awards and counting)
supported or represented the Down syndrome community via 5 statewide and national organizations:
Statewide Special Education Committee
Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (steering committee member)
Ethan Saylor Alliance, for safety of people with I/DD at the hands of law enforcement (steering committee member)
Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group ($ paid membership)
Global Down Syndrome Foundation ($ paid membership)
*many are weekly or monthly recurring programs

It’s an election year, we have work to do around disability advocacy and accurate Down syndrome information.
